Child Protection & Safety

MeIntoYou is an adults-only service. This page sets out how we keep minors off the platform, how we handle child sexual abuse and exploitation, and exactly how to report a concern.

1.The rule: MeIntoYou is 18+, with no exceptions

You must be 18 years or older to create an account, appear in discovery, or send a single message on MeIntoYou. There is no teen mode, no supervised mode, and no version of this product intended for anyone under 18.

This is not a guideline we weigh against other things. An account we believe belongs to a minor is removed, and it is removed whether or not the account has done anything else wrong.

2.How we keep minors out

We do not rely on a single check, because a single check is a single thing to lie past.

  • Date of birth at signup. A date of birth under 18 blocks registration, and the device is prevented from immediately retrying with a different year.
  • Photo and profile review. Profiles are moderated. Reviewers are trained to treat apparent age as a reason to escalate, not a judgement call to shrug at.
  • Age challenge. Where a reviewer or a report raises doubt, the account is suspended from discovery and messaging while we ask for proof of age. Access does not resume until that is resolved.
  • Signals across the account. References to school year groups, uniform in photos, or self-declared ages in chat are all treated as reportable signals.

Where an account is confirmed to belong to a minor, it is terminated and the underlying identifiers are blocked from re-registering.

3.Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

MeIntoYou has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation material or behaviour. This covers imagery, solicitation, grooming, sexualised discussion of minors, and any attempt to use the platform to reach a child — whether that child is on MeIntoYou or elsewhere.

Confirmed CSAE results in immediate permanent termination, preservation of the associated evidence, and referral to the appropriate authorities and hotlines. We do not offer appeals as a route back for this category.

Our full standard, including the Google Play CSAE requirements we operate under, is published at CSAE Safety Standards.

4.Grooming and off-platform contact

Grooming rarely looks like grooming at first. It looks like flattery, secrecy, and a fast push to move the conversation somewhere unmoderated. Our moderation treats these patterns as signals in their own right:

  • Pressure to move to another app or platform early in a conversation.
  • Requests for images, especially paired with secrecy or reciprocity.
  • Offers of money, gifts, travel or opportunities in exchange for contact.
  • Any attempt to establish contact with someone the sender believes to be under 18.

Believing the other person was over 18 is not a defence where the conduct itself was directed at someone presented as a minor.

5.How to report

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then tell us, so we can preserve the account and the evidence.

  • In the app: open the profile or chat, tap the menu, choose Report, and select the child-safety category. These reports jump the queue.
  • By email: meintoyouapp@gmail.com — put CHILD SAFETY in the subject line.
  • Through the site: the contact form, if you cannot access the app.

Do not download, forward, or re-share suspected CSAE material, even to show us. Send us the profile or the report reference and let us retrieve it through the proper channel.

6.What happens after a report

  • Triage, prioritised. Child-safety reports are routed ahead of the general queue and reviewed by trained staff.
  • Protective action first. Where the report is credible, the account is restricted immediately, before the investigation finishes rather than after it.
  • Preservation. Relevant account data and content are preserved for law enforcement rather than deleted with the account.
  • Referral. Confirmed CSAE is referred to the relevant authorities and reporting bodies in the jurisdictions involved.
  • Feedback. Reporters are told when action has been taken, within what confidentiality and legal process allow.

7.For parents and guardians

If you believe your child has created an account on MeIntoYou, email meintoyouapp@gmail.com with any identifying detail you have — the email address used, a screenshot, or the profile name. We will locate and remove the account, and we will delete the associated data.

You do not need to prove guardianship before we act. We act on the age question first and handle the paperwork second.

8.Working with law enforcement

We respond to valid legal process and to emergency disclosure requests where there is a risk of serious harm to a child. Officers should follow the process on our Law Enforcement Guidelines page, which includes what we can preserve and how to request it.

Reporting a child at risk

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services before you contact us. Then email meintoyouapp@gmail.com with CHILD SAFETY in the subject line so the report is prioritised.
